Default saleen sc with 39lb injectors

Anyone running a saleen supercharger with a 3.0 pulley and 39 lb injectors? If so any problems with fuel flow?

Thanks

I'd think you'd be running out of fuel with 39s.

I too have asked this question. they say the 39's are good to 500rwhp. JDM says with the 3.2 we need the 60's. but I see several out there running the 3.2 on 39's. Im goin to.
Im sure to get the max out of it would be best to go with 60's. and Im sure it depends on the tune. Id say you would still be ok at your altitude.

That is my dilema. Bren sells a stage 4 kit with 39lbers and a 3.0 but then I called JDM today about my tune since my 3.0 showed up and they said I would need the 60lbers which is another $400+. I really like JDM's tune (more rpm) but note sure I want to part with another $400 that is my drive shaft fund.

I am running the stock FRP 90mm MAF (steeda makes it). I sent joe and email asking whether or not I can get by with 39'rs and the 90mm MAF at this altitude (4800'). I am also going to call the boys at Bren tomorrow and talk to them about what my options are. Brenspeed did not change my tune when I went from the 3.4 to the 3.2? I picked up about 35 HP with the pulley change. I am going to get my car on the dyno soon to see what difference their is in the JDM tune compared to the Bren setup. The main difference is Bren shuts the revs off at 6500 while the JDM tune takes it on up to almost 7k. I'll let you know what I uncover and as soon as I make the switch to the other pulley I'll let you know.

Even with a BAP the 39’s are o the ragged edge. I was making 475hp with 39#’ers, stock pump and a BAP and the injectors still ran 90% plus WOT. Anything over 80% is considered not optimal. If you stay wide open longer it will start to run out of fuel. A ¼ mille pass won’t “drain” the system but if you run the car up to 150+ and hold it there it will start to run out of fuel volume (not pressure, volume). This is where the stock returnless system, it’s small fuel lines, small fuel rails and stock pump with a BAP don’t quite get the job done.

Agree they (JDM) advise you to upgrade your injectors with the 3.0 pulley.

I'm in Colorado too bro.

I don't think JDM and Brenspeed stop to take into account that we're at altitude, which does change things compared to guys at sea level.

I'm planning on going to the 3.2 pulley as well very soon, and the only other mod I was going to make in regards to the s/c pulley swap was to swap my stock Saleen idler pulley for a larger one to help with belt wrap and prevent as much slipping as I can.

Do you have any other supporting mods for the 3.2 pulley for belt wrap, or are you getting any for the 3.0?

This is a tad off topic, but I have a question for you about your Meziere w/p. I'm 99% positive that after hard acceleration if I get off the gas pedal too quickly my belt slips on the w/p pulley and makes that screeching sound. Does yours do the same thing on a quick deceleration? The belt can slip since the w/p pulley is merely another idler.

yes sir....screeches every time...not bad but I hear it. I wanted to get the Meziere with the V-10 pulley but it was a big difference in price.
I have since switched out the POS Saleen plastic idler for the stock OEM idler but havent driven the car since nasty weather! Im curious as to how much it helps. I never saw 9psi on the 3.4..only 7psi so I know my belt was slipping.

My JDM email tune,, car shifts at 6100. I was surprised to see yours at say 6800. my old Evo N/A tune was at 6800.
I asked Jimmy3 about a new tune when goin to the 3.2 and all he said was the bigger MAF and injectors. Id love to get a dyno tune. curious as to what your numbers will be and what you find out on the dyno.

do you run the stock W/P and pulley? if So I have the Ford V-10 pulley Ill give ya. well some shipping money

I was afraid that i was getting some slippage so I went to a smaller belt on the advice of another stang banger in Ft Collins. I also run the v10 water pump pulley. I picked up maybe a half pound of boost but I have never heard the belt screech when coming of WOT.

I am still waiting to hear back from Bren and JDM on the 39lb issue and the larger MAF. I was shocked the first time I ran the car with the JDM tune and noticed I could take it past 6500! I am not exactly sure where the limiter is set now as I usually shift it right before I hit 7k. Makes 1st gear burnout alot easier as you are not right on the limiter all the time. I'll try to call both places tomorrow and get some info on which direction to go. I am really curious how Bren offers a 3.0 package with 39'rs and a 90mm MAF? I hope to get the car on the dyno soon I want to compare the two tunes side by side and see which one produces a better power curve and what the AF mixture is.
