that's strange, my aux is just a jack on the rear of the entire radio head unit. Have to take off panels/remove the entire unit to get to it
(Installing my sirius satellite was a pain for me and an audio shop)

I don't beleive the 06's had a jack. Mine didn't, so I just replaced the head unit. All of the other hook-up's for the shakers don't work worth a crap. Replacing the head unit is the only way I know to get great sound from the Ipod.
