Default 2008 Mustang GT tire pressure fault will not clear

I have a 2008 Mustang GT stock, except for K&M cold air kit. I swapped stock 17 inch tires for 17 snow tire. I can not get the tire preasure senor fault to clear. I've added and removed air but will not recalibrate. Does any one have a solution to fix?

i do remember reading that it may take some time while driving for it to clear. Have you driven it some after changing the tires?

go down to a tire shop and ask them to reset your sensors and get your air up to 35psi. it should be free. i work at discount tire and they do it for free but the nearest one to you is in ohio.. so..

they may have possibly damaged the tpms. it is mounted on what looks like a huge hose clamp but the mount is plastic so it only take one time to hit it with the bead breaker to put a tpms out of commision. take it to a ford dealer and they should reset it for free if not then they can tell you whick sensor is damaged and will not retrain. all at no cost as long as it is under warranty.

Agree that the sensor may be damaged...

I just had new tires put on this past week. They broke one of the sensors. It was 20 miles before the TPMS told me about it.

They put a new sensor on it and tried to reset it three times, three different days. No luck.

I had to take it to Ford and they plugged into the computer to clear the fault. The tire shop was using a hand held device and holding it close to each wheel, that wasn't working.

This system seems to be a little fragile when unaware, ham fisted people are working with it. I can't figure out if there is a small battery in the sensor or just how it transmits it's info. F'n magic?

Learning to fly my first jet some of the old guys would talk about "PFM" in some of the aircraft systems. Being the new guy I was digging through the books trying to figure out "PFM". Eventually I had to raise my hand and ask...."Pure F***ing Magic" is the answer for the complicated stuff. They had a good laugh on me behalf, every class the new guy asks.
