well I think I'm gonna go with the whipple then. I'll probably go with the H/O kit with intercooler...as for pulley I'm still not sure whether to get a larger one or not...some people say no need while others stress I should. I'm not sure about the auto tranny as well either and what I all gotta do to keep it alive...thanks for the help though guys much apprecaited

the auto tranny should withstand upto 600-650 hp! and the limit for the engine is around 450-500rwhp. you should also look into the new Roush TVS, very efficient, new tech, and it produces 500+hp with just 5psi!!!

I have a copy of the Whipple instructions but I can't list here. If you can pm me a regular e-mail address I'll send them to you

Not without iternal and programing changes. A converter is very importat to operate correctly.

"The factory transmission is calibrated for soft, lazy shifts," Barrett says. "The calibration is so close that any modifications to the engine's power output causes the transmission to slip. The 5R55S needs calibration of the ECM, transmission, and torque converter to get the power to the wheels. Without combining the engine management to the transmission calibration, you won't have success with getting the car to use all of the available power you've put into it."
Pat Barrett, owner of Level 10

That's funny, I know someone with three GT500's with Whipples and right before a competition Ford said because they were sponsoring him they wanted him to run a TVS. They sent him one for free, he put it on, tuned it to death and ended up with 100 less HP than the Whipple. He still had to run it though. To quote him "I would rather pay for a Whipple than run a TVS for free"

I prefer to get my power making advice from the guys on the ground with no agenda. Not the magazines that are slaves to their advertisers.

I don't know Steve, but I know Holly! When you look at all the different S/C setups at car gatherings and you see that the Saleen has intake runners, a bypass system, you see how the screws are lubricated, the way the intercooler is setup (you know your intake temps, if you have a guage, and the intercooler drops the temp something fierce) and how it runs overall. I have driven the different types and they make awesome power - but they are simplistic (simple is good) and don't offer a bypass. From my standpoint, my Saleen S/C can put me sideways all day long and get me 22+ highway...
