Default A few supecharger questions

Ok well its been awhile since I've been on this website so I just thought I'd give a little update on whats going on. Well first of all I have a 2006 Ford Mustang GT with an AUTO tranny with only about 10k miles on it and I'm basically looking to s/c this bad boy soon (since the warranty is going bye bye). I'm planning on going for a Whipple H/O system with the intercooler obviously but possibly get a larger pulley just to bring the psi levels to around 10-9. Here are a few questions that I have for you guys:
1. How much RWHP will I get out of this system?
2. Is there any critical components that I should put on just so I don't kill the thing. (besides tuning of course)
3. Is there any good shops online that I can get a good price on this system?
4. Does anyone else have a different suggestion as to the setup I should go with?
5. Anymore comments and questions would be great.

Again, this is not my regular driver. I only take this car out on beautiful summer/spring/fall days. I live in minnesota so that means so driving in winter. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I would suggest you give Chris a call at Tillman Speed. They have installed a lot of them and they are a site sponsor. They are one of the best out there.

I wouldn't mess with a pulley swap at first.

ok well what will be my psi rating with the stock one whipple offers?
Also another question arose, will be it a problem for a auto tranny to have this s/c...as in will I blow the tranny? ha ha

You should be in the 8-10 psi range. With a good tune, that is very safe.

K so I understand the fact that a supercharger WILL initially ware down the engine over time unless I get the internals forged and all that crap but if I keep it stock the engine just won't blow up on me outa random right? I mean I know 8-10 psi isn't much but I just thought i'd ask...again please bear with me I'm still learning

It's a crapshoot with forced induction. Even with a perfect tune there are no guarantees.

You can get the HO Whipple kit but I'd get a good dyno tune to go with it once it's installed.

Well sweet man I'll probably do that....do ya know of a good place to get this system online? Like I have a tuner already...but I'd need everything else like bigger injectors and a fuel pump etc....

That normally comes in the kit. Correct me if i am wrong but i believe that the Whipple kit comes with 39lb injectors, and some type of fuel pump upgrade as well.

The kit that i am looking into is the Saleen twin-screw for the simple fact that the Whipple just went up in price by $1,000 a few months ago. HOWEVER, the Whipple went up because so many people were buying them, so that right there tells you something about their product.

So i can't stress the importance of research when you are going F/I.

I plan on having Chris Rose at Tillmanspeed install and then dyno the car right after the install and make me and extra safe tune

Then a few years down the road when my bank account permits it, forge the internals or just drop in a short block.

I think the Lysholm type SALEEN supercharger is the smartest buy when it comes to supercharging the S197 because:
1. easy install (for a good amount of wrenchers)
2. bypasses the S/C when not in use helping with gas mileage
3. It's intercooled
4. It's proven
5. It's technologically advanced far more than any other S/C.

I don't think I'll go with Saleen. I've heard plenty of good from them but I've also heard plenty of bad....since ford has taken whipple as their own...I'll just stick with Whipple
