Default 2008 Mustang GT/CS, Location of TPMS inside the Wheels/Tires.

I'm in the process of upgrading my wheels and I was just wondering if someone is familiar as to where or how the TPMS is attached or situated inside the wheels\tires. Will really appreciate any input.

Thanks!

Band sensors that are inside the wheel 180 degrees from your valve stem. That's the way it is on all 2005+ mustangs.

I thought that Ford started using the TPMS on the 2007 model. My friend has a 2006 and his does not have it.

BIG THANKS to everyone for all the response. Now it helped me to decide on when to get the new sets of wheels/tires. I'll search in the net on where to purchase this compatible replacement so I can have the shop install it in the new set.

GREAT INPUT!!!

If you what to contine using the TPMS, you will have to get the ones that are in your wheels now. You will need to replace the bands that hold the sensors. If you what new sensors, you HAVE to buy them from Ford, and they are about $250 each, maybe more.

No thats not true. I called up a local ford dealer parts distributor and maintanence place they told me it was $80 for the strap and I cant remember the exact number but its about $100 dollars for just the sensor. So all in all its around $200 for one whole sensor setup. (one strap and one sensor).
