Diablosport Predator Tuner and Bamachips tunes (93 Race, Torque, and Preformance), Boom Tubes
Kooks LT headers and catted H pipe, Steeda UDPs, delete plates, UCAs, LCAs, and Panhard brace, all waiting on time to install them
I was just kidding with shifter87. He sounds like a great resource if you're looking to take the car to the drags, or to get some serious road manners.
I'm about to install a CAI myself, which means getting a tuner as well. Somewhere in the $600-800 range, depending on what you want. Mine's a daily driver, but I wanted a little more going to the rear wheels. If you don't believe me about the speakers, just open the trunk, and look underneath the deck and you'll see speakers you can get at the dollar store. Absolute junk. But, the head unit is quite good!
Now, the doors have 6x8s and 8" subwoofers. The subs are hard to find replacements for, so all I did was replace the mains with Infinity Kappas. I used the exact same speaker in the rear deck, and the difference is incredible. Replacing the rears is different with '07 and up cars, and it's a royal pain, to be honest. '05 and '06s are easy. I took my car to a stereo installer, and he did a great job. If you're looking for a daily driver, I found that I like to listen to the engine most of the time, but if I'm taking a long trip, the stereo is key! I have Sirius in my head unit, plus the 6 disc CD changer which plays mp3 discs, and a jack for an mp3 player, so there's lots of options in this area. It's just a shame that Ford stopped when it came to the most important part of the stereo, the speakers.
I'm looking for a snappier throttle response and a little more hp and torque with the CAI, so the days when the stereo is off will be more fun!
Oh! Is your car a manual or auto trans? I got rid of the nasty shifter right away and installed a Hurst Billet short throw--made a huge difference. Not the best shifter on the market, but it looks real good in the car.
Stl, just lower control arms? That's for traction/wheel hop right. Are uppers not really necessary if you have mild mods and not lowering the car?

Yea StlWagon, expand a little bit on what you got out of changing the lower control arms. That would be very helpful, as I was thinking about changing them to maybe see how it affects the car. What have you experienced with the change? And also do you have anything to say about upper control arms?

The OEM rear lower arms are just stamped steel with a fairly flimsy bushing. A good set of tubular LCAs with poly bushings will really firm things up Steeda, CHE, BMR, Spohn all make a decent product for the S197s.
don't forget to watch for voiding your warranty,....I voided mine, (according to my dealership), at 2200 miles. I'll fight them when/if I have to, but it may just be easier for you to find a friendly dealership.
