How hard is it to remove the crankshaft pulley?

I'm about to buy an 8 rib pulley kit for my Saleen s/c.

I'm wondering what amount of work is involved, particularly with the crankshaft pulley replacement. It looks like getting that thing off will require some extra parts removal to be able to get at it.

How much work am I looking at since I want to do this on my own. I'll also be swapping out my tensioner too.

Any advise is very much appreciated.

Very easy... Go to autozone and rent a Chrysler 3-jaw harmonic balancer puller. You'll either need a breaker bar or an air gun to remove the bolt. Much easier if your remove the fan shroud. You will need a new crank bolt and some RTV sealant for the key slot on the pulley.

For the bolt you will need p/n F5RZ-6A340-B.

So whats with the RTV. Never used it. Just trying to figure out the purpose of the RTV.

I searched for two days trying to find one. No luck. Actually, my Snap-On small three jawed puller worked just fine.

Correct. A little oil will leak past the key if it's not sealed. Have to make sure that the crank is installed before the RTV cures...

You need to put some on the key way and on the washer then bolt it together.
