Default too much brake dust

i just changed my brake pads to the wagner gold series. these are "supposed" to be oe replacement. The only bad thing is that i get an unholy amount of brake dust on my rims and calipers (they are painted that is the only reason for this concern). does anyone have any suggestions on how to remedy this. if i have to change them again i will. it is so frustrating to clean the rims and have them look like crap 3 days later.

Try some RejeX on your wheels. Makes them much easier to clean.

I put a cote of wax on my wheels to help dirt and break dust from sticking to them. Plus it makes them shine a little more

My stock brake pads do not have any dust at all and provide adequate stopping power.

When they eventually need to be replaced, should I stick with stock pads, or is there an after market pad that performs better than stock while still being dust free?

stock brake pads worked great. hardly any dust at all. as for the wax it would help but it really is a copious amount of brake dust. the rear wheels arent nearly so bad but i know the front wheels do most of the braking. just wondering if anyone has found a set that work well and are better on the dust issue.

I ran a set of Stoptech pads on mine at one point. They were virtually dustless.

Maybe your brakes are hanging up. When you replaced the pads, did you lube everything up?

I would get another set of stock pads. I have the Hawk HP Plus pads and I hate them with a passion. They squeak bad and I can't go more than 10 miles without having brake dust everywhere. On top of that the right front pad gives a nice thud when I hit them backing up. I'm about to get a new set of front ones and they will either be stock or performance friction. I believe the Bullitt comes with Performance Friction pads so I'm going to see if I can get some from the parts dept.

+1 The HPS pads are good. I don't see a lot of dust from mine and I have sloted rotors.

I called the parts dept today and come to find out the Bullitt calipers have a different part number than the stock GT calipers...wtf ?

Bullitt caliper is 8R3Z2B120A

Stock GT is 6R3Z2B120

The brake pads have different part numbers as well. I guess maybe the Bullitt brake pads won't fit a regular GT. Anyone know for sure ?

The reason I wanted the Bullitt pads is due to the rave about the brakes on the Bullitt and I have also heard good things about Performance Friction pads from road racers...

http://www.corral.net/new/index.php/...ustang-bullitt

"Revised brake pads improve stopping distances and provide fade resistance under hard braking"

http://www.jdpower.com/autos/article...ullitt-Preview

"Brake and suspension modifications have also been made. The brakes get more aggressive Performance Friction Carbon Metallic pads and dark grey calipers, and the shocks and struts are stiffer."

They are the same calipers with different pads.
