Default Swapping 3.55's for 4.10's?

I want to swap my 3.55's for 4.10's. The 4.10's are only about $150 online, but i dont think ill be able to install them myself, ill be way too nervous because i just got the car. Its a 07 GT Manual.

Do any of you have any idea how much it would be for a mechanic to install them for me? Even if i buy them and tell a mechanic to put them in for me?

Thanks in advance!

If you've never done gears, then def leave it to a mechanic. Call around and check on prices, best to call performance places than regular joe mechanic. Make sure they've done gear swaps. Mine did them for $200 and the most I've paid is $230. The dealership will probably want around 400-500, i would avoid that.

well if you have them installed at the dealership, its warrantied but ill just go to a performance shop and have them install it, i think its worth it for only $200....now is that $200 for the gears and labor or just labor?

You can figure on anywhere from $250 to $400 for an install. And cheaper isn't always better!

Make sure you are getting a genuine FRPP gear set. There are two versions and one is the "motive" set and you do not want these. Many complain of noise and whine associated with these, so beware !

Yes, try to get the Ford gears with the letter "A" in the part #. I paid $600 including parts, install kit, Royal Purple lube, and labor, and that was from a top notch place, Livernois Motorsports.

I would purchase the master bearing kit too. Another $80-100.

Absolutely! Never reuse bearings on a new gear install...

I'm running 3.55 now...is it worth it to switch? I think the 3.55 is a great gear for the street.
