Reaper- I agree. Where do you buy your Amsoil, how much do you pay per quart, and how often do you change your oil? I live in the boonies, so I'd rather get it shipped to me. Does UPS and FedEx ship petroleum products?
BTW, doesn't Wix make Amsoil filters?
I order it off of their website and have it shipped UPS to my house. It costs me about $80 dollars . I run it for 10,000 miles.

Ha! the funny thing with me is that I moved close to my job when gas went way up in price, and now I only put like 250 miles/month on my car! I was driving 500 miles a week before I moved. My concern now is months and not miles. The owner's manual says every 6 months, but I wonder if I could stretch it to a year with Amsoil!
You can run most of their oils 25,000 or 1 year which ever comes first. You will also have to use their EA filter. I use the EA filter and 0w20 oil not for the mileage but for the lubricating properties.
wow, as i read the posts i realize all of you really know your stuff. (I feel so inadequate) any how, I now have a new problem, well not so much a problem as it is a loss of knowledge. I found a screw in my tire and need to get it replaced (to close to sidewall), as I am in the UK there are no cheap places to get my american car serviced. If I go on base the auto hobby shop will swap the old with the new, and i should do a rotation while my car is up, but I can't remember the pattern for RWD cars. Do the back ones go straight up to the front? or do they cross? I used to work at discount tire, but for the life of me I can't remember which goes where. Any insight on this?

Depends on the tires. If they are asymmetrical (which is what came stock on the GT), you have to keep the tires on the same side of the car. If they are symmetrical, you can cross over.

yea they are stock, i know directional tires have a certain pattern. i googled it and found the rear tires move straight up to the front and the front tires cross to the back.. that sound right to you? for stock tires.

Would you ever consider going that long between oil changes?

You are right; that's what the owner's manual says, but I have been rotating mine front to back and not crossing them. I always thought that if you had a directional tire, it had to stay on the same side of the car. I guess i've been wrong all this time. Sure makes it easier to rotate when you keep them on the same side; all you have to do is put your jack stands under one side of the car at a time.

I know I couldn't. I couldn't bear to think that the same oil has been in the engine for that long. Plus, I enjoying spilling warm motor oil all over my hands every once in a while.
