Default How much $ to swap axleback exhaust on 06 GT?

Hey guys, bolded the important stuff if you're not into details.

The first thing on my (relatively short and simple) list of mods is to upgrade the exhaust.

I'm stuck on the MAC/Pacifica Boomtube axlebacks, as Corsa's - in spite of how much I like them - are far out of my budget.

I just got my license this past June, and as such have virtually no hands on experience with working on cars.

I'd love to do it myself, but I also don't want to mess anything up on my car, so what should it cost me to have a mechanic remove the stock mufflers and bolt on the Boomtubes?

P.S. - Also, does anyone know what it would cost to have a pair of quarter window louvers painted? Thanks!

I'd rather not have it welded yet just in case its too loud for my neighborhood's taste/laws or something.

It shouldn't cost more the what the hourly rate is for 1 to 2hrs at the most.
As for the window louvers it will depend on the color. Some colors are more then others.

I had a set of JBA s/s mufflers bolted onto my 06 Mustang GT this past Summer. Neighborhood Goodyear Store charged me $42.00 to take off the original and bolt on the JBAs It had to have taken less than half an hour up on the rack.

if u got a floor jack, or even better ramps, you can do your axle back yourself. unbolt, unhook

rebolt rehook

once u find out if you like them

if u live where it shows or rains alot, and salt is in teh water of the snow, id weld it then cover it with a rust preventitive hi temp paint

If you have common hand tools and a couple of jackstands it's an easy job.

Glad to hear that. I have my GTA's coming in sometime this week and want to do it myself.

Swapping out an axle back exhaust is really easy. If you want to save some money, gain a little self confidence (automotively speaking), and the self satisfaction of a job you've done yourself, it just takes a little time. Really. The worst thing you might need is a couple of simple hand tools.

OK, so I've added a few things to it. Check my Profile - too many to list here.

I swapped mine out in 30 minutes at the most. It is really easy and I didnt jack the car up. Do it yourself! There is really nothing to mess up. 1 clamp and 2 hangers on each side.
