Default Allright lets just supercharge the damn thing already!!!

I need to fess up here amigos, there is 94 octane here in town, the thing is, I've had a fill station on site at my plant for 15 years, bulk Chevron 87, so I haven't bought fuel, personally, out of my pocket, for 15 years (it is my business, my fuel I pay for though the business, I'm not taking from someone else, just to clarify). I'm sure all you dudes can agree, that is big motivation for running 87 octane!! But........

....... no matter what I look at, all the bolt ons, everything to run 87 octane, I just finished reading Kenne Bell's 2.6L blower build, I got wood!!! Plus, how many $$$'s spent into mods that will be shelved once F/I is done, let's just go right to it. I bough the car insanely cheap at an auction, no accidents, dents, low km's, no warranty claims, I have a good budget on this one.

What's my limit for stock trans and engine internals. Ford says 400hp with their kit, Vortec shows a few higher readings, Saleen, Kenne Bell, all show higher #'s. I wil indeed do suspension mods and plan on 15" wheels and MT dot's on the track, an alum ds, descent tuning of course. KB shows nothing more than an axle back with his kit, sounds good to me, I hate tightening headers. I'd really like to do the vortech kit, cheap price, 420hp result, no intercooler, and I can do it all myself in the garage while watching pinks all out and having a beer!

What should I aim for guys, and thanks once again for sharing!!!

I'm roughly at the 475 RWHP range with the Saleen Supercharger on stock internals, don't know how long she'll last though.
Many people are at and beyond my power level with good results.

I wasted a lot of money on bolt-ons before going FI with mine.
One thing though, you won't be able to get away with 87 octane with any kind of poweradder.

Have you checked out the deal at Brenspeed? They have a good reputation & are very helpful on any questions. Included the link for their Vortech deal.

Less than 500 rwhp is okay on the stock internals and tranny. That is the upper limit. Pretty much any "stock" setup you get with any aftermarket SC is fine with a stock engine and tranny.

Some people like Mick run rigth @ 500 and he hasn't blown anything yet...sooo.

So if I stick between 400-450hp I should be looking ok, maybe Ford's x-pipe to stuff in with some axles backs, an alun ds, and suspension components, I should be looking good!!

Consequently, just buying a grabber orange GT500 and leaving this one stock for thw wife would work too........ kinda checking into that as we speak heheh!!
