Default 2 things. Please Read!

First, Does anyone know of any 07 mustangs had been brought in and fixed for TSB 06-9-9 (Hesitation on Acceleration after long cruise) Air bubbles in the Fuel line from Fuel pump. Granted, this only applies to 05 - 06 models. Curious if some 07's experiencing it also.

2nd, Anyone with automatics experiencing hesitation between 40 - 60 mph especially when cruising consistently and then hit the gas only to have the car droan and get very little acceleration and very little RPM gain? Feels like a dead spot......I can tell in the exhaust note as well....poor power.

I can't answer your second question, but by '07 the fuel pumps had been changed to the new style. So you shouldn't be having that problem. Mine's an '05 and I had the fuel pump issue.

OK, so I've added a few things to it. Check my Profile - too many to list here.

No problems at all either. As for #2 don't know but a tune for the trans might help.

The dead spot with automatics seems to be a fairly common complaint.

I have an 08 Auto and no hesitation at all. If I give it too much gas it actually will chirp the tires from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd. Of course like I stated on your other thread regarding this issue I have an sct3 tunner and Bamachips tunes. The tunes have adjusted shift points in the transmision.

The reason why I ask about the TSB..I remember reading something about it either here or in another forum that some of the early 07's built in 06 may have accidently been equipped with the defective pump even after the mad rush to correct the issue before the cars were sold as stated by a Ford Technician. I have been trying to hunt down that thread so I can print it out for extra ammo along with the actual TSB sheet for when I bring it again to the dealership, but so far no luck. My 07 was built in June of 06 by the way.
An important point i want to bring up for all the Automatic owners...I was at my local dealership a couple weeks ago for the hesitation issue and the service advisor mentioned there is an update for the PCM available that improves the communication between the PCM and the TCM via a reflash which he said may fix what I am experiencing. They went ahead and did this for me, and when I left the dealership, I did feel a little change but it soon vanished. This whole "Adaptive learning" on the automatics in my opinion is a worthless piece of crap. It seems to adjust for traffic conditions and not for my right foot. My buddy has an 08 automatic GT with the exact mods I have except for he has a CAI non-tuned from Roush and he's not feeling the hesitation I have. He took a ride with me one day and as we caught up to slower traffic I began to cruise at around 45. As soon as I could pass, I hit the gas respectfully and together we felt a soft shift, exhaust droan went very high, rpm's hovered at around 1700 with very little climb and very little acceleration. He said "Something doesnt feel right, we should have felt a non-forced kickdown and then an upshift immediately, not a bog down." It doesnt do this all the time, 1 minute the car will respond and do as it should and then some days its asleep. After the reflash from the dealer, it seems to recover quicker from this "bogged down" behavior, but the fact remains, it still trys to behave as before.
Sorry to ramble on, but Im frustrated. Guess who is riding with me next...yup a Ford Technician! Im done with their "Sorry, we couldnt duplicate the problem". The car now has 34,000 miles.....I know what Ford is thinking....warranty is almost gone........you know what Im talking about!

Yes I understand. I wasn't bashing you or anything. Not to sound like a broken record but with a tunner(programer) you can turn the "adaptive learning" off. Which I think all tunes that you get do. Please follow up with us so that we can hear the rest of the story and good luck!

That can only be turned off at the software level. And turning off the adaptive learning isn't recommended by the tuners I've talked with.

Really? I could have sworn that Doug said that he turns this function off with his tunes. Interesting.

My 06 GT was built just about the last day of May 06 and I had to have the fuel pump replaced per the TSB. I don't know if there is an exact date or VIN number where the new design pumps were changed on the production line or not. I haven't heard of any info. I think the only way to tell for sure is to have the dealer pull the pump and look at it.

That's what I meant... Only the tuner can disable. It's not a user adjustable feature.

Might try going to the dealer with the complaint and see what their response is (still in warranty, right?)
Another quickie is to clean the TB, those that clean after 30k usually report a noticeable improvement.
