Default 2006 Mustang GT Auto Tranny Break-in

finally, I got my car out of Ford today with a total rebuilt auto tranny.

I just wonder how to drive it for the time being..
is there any break-in required?
are the 4.10 and big wheels harmful at this point?
what else should I keep in mind??

I don't think you really need to do anything special but I wouldn't be doing any burnouts for the first 500 miles!

i was planning to keep it under 60MPH for the first 1000 miles

I was told this trans last a lot longer if you warm them up well first thing then take it easy for the first mile or so

i got the car for the first cruise with the new tranny..
everything went OK until the O\D light flashed again
the car was kicking into gears so harshly..
i turned the engine off and on and it went OK till i got home..

what is that??

Sounds like the computer was adjusting.

Hey Mark, Do these cars adjust to your driving habits like some cars in this computer age.I know some that have to relearn if you put a new battery in.

they changed the solenoid.. even though, they changed it in the rebuild..
is this a know symptom of solenoid failure?

Yes it does relearn. And I have never heard of braking in an auto trans. You could always ask the dealer. I wouldn't go out and beat it when I left the dealership but after a week of driving it, all's fair.

I took it to Ford and they chabged the solenoid..
2 days later, they changed the valve body..

yesterday, it did the same thing.. O\D flashing and tranny kicking..
turn it off/on; everything is totally fine..

really confused....

Whose tune are you running? Some tuners do disable the adaptive learning (mine does), but not sure if all tuners do.
