I looked the code up here and found that my car is running lean. now i have a couple things that i can do.
1) i can change the tune down to a 91 or 87 tune and see if that does something
2) can it might be my oil separator? like its not being held on tight enough and air is getting in there? Would it be worth trying to put the stock connector back on there and see if the problem goes away?
I am a little confused to to what to do right now. the car just hit 10,000 miles and has never given me a problem until now.
I am going to granny the car for right now since i still need to get around. if i drive it at lower RPM's, it should minimize the effects until i can fix it right?
I am going to spray down the MAF sensor when i go home tonight and see if that helps. I am also going to take off the intake and re-install it. Just to make sure its sitting properly.
i have been googling this for the last 20 min and they say that the most common cause is a dirty MAF sensor. So i am hoping that is my solution. I have always had a fitting issue with my dry flow air filter and my intake elbow. It always wants to slid up and allow a little gap on the bottom. I am pretty sure this has been my problem. I constantly check it but there is dirty air that gets in there and probably got the MAF sensor dirty.
This is just worrying me since its my first time. Wait... Actually i did get this chek engine light once but it went away after about 10 minutes.

I would get my money back from the guy who sold you that CAI

I have another question. How do i clear the code to see if what i did fixed the problem? Because the check engine light is going to stay there until i clear the code right?
And i have tightened everything up since it was a little on the loose side. I am going to crack open the MAF sensor cleaner tonight and let it sit overnight and re-install it in the morning and see if on the way to school it doesn't throw the code again.

When you go to read the code arrow down further to 'clear DTCs'.
You only have 10,000 miles on your Mustang? I have 9800 miles and some change. You haven't changed tunes recently have you?

I would say definitly an air leak somewhere, the only time I had that code I had a loose hose clamp.

I am pretty confident it was an air leak. I tightened up my elbow where it attached to the throttle body and where it attached to the air filter. I think it had a little big of a gap there. Also tightened up the oil separator for good measure too. I cleared the code while i was driving lol and it has not come back yet. I have driven about 30 miles and taken her up to about 5k and nothing. I am pretty confident that was the issue.
