bbk shorty header and inspection

hey i want to add headers on soon. i live in nj so emissions testing is something to worry about. would the BBK tuned length shorty pass inspection? i cant find anywhere if they are carb legal.

They aren't CARB legal. I would ask around and see exactly what goes on during the inspection. They may only look to see if you have cats as far as the visual goes. If this is the case, you'll be fine. Perhaps there is a shop around you that knows a "mod-friendly" smog place.

Should be ok in New Jersey but it would be good to check to be sure.

would they look for a carb legal plate on the header itself? i feel like they would over look the headers but only check for the cats.

I believe the plate is what they would be looking for, but it's best to check around. Some guys look the other way on stuff like that.

If that's the case, JBA Cat4ward shorties may be the only option.

yea i was just looking at those. which is better do you the think... the bbk tuned or the jba's

The JBAs are 304 stainless to they're going to be better in the long run.
