Hi everyone, I'm looking to get a shortshifter for my 08 mustang. I will be installing 4.10 gears on Sat. + I have CAI 93 tune Throtle body spacer and flowmaster exaust. which will be a decent Shifter to get without braking the bank or setting for less?

Yeah, I ordered the Hurst Billet (more solid & less noisey supposedly) shifter myself.....anxious to get home finally so I can install it. I researched all of the shifters & I got the Hurst for $250 from Brenspeed with free shipping. I know the MGW seems to be the all around best but it's about $300 for the shifter then you have to spend an additional $60-$80 for a shift knob if you don't want to use the stock knob. I don't care for the stock knob anyway, as some have said, it looks like it belongs in a European car & I've noticed that it is similary to other Ford car's shifters (i.e. the Focus).

I have a MGW in mine and love it. It has an incredible solid feel and is completely adjustable as well.

It's more money but worth every penny in my opinion.

Just do a search on here for short throw shifters & you will see numerous posts where this has been discussed & may give you a better idea, good luck.

+1 on the Hurst Comp plus. Very firm, solid feel.

Got mine from Rebel Performance for $159 ($149 + $10 shipping)

Unless I was suckered into it, this is why Steeda's Billet Aluminum Intake Throttle Body Spacer is designed specifically for the 2005+ 4.6L 3 Valve V8 Mustang GT. Made from Billet 6061 aluminum it is designed to give you more plenum volume for increased horsepower.
The swirl design helps promote airflow by breaking the surface tension of the incoming air. After installation, an increase of horsepower and fuel mileage should be seen with this part. The kit includes instructions, gasket, and mounting hardware.

Features:
  • Increased horsepower
  • Increased gas mileage
  • Made in the USA
  • Fits 2005+ Ford Mustang GT 3V 4.6L V8 with Stock Throttle Body.
However, please keep in mind that I did all my mods at ones, therfore, while I notice the difference from stock, I can't really single out the change in performance individually.

mine does to a little and somebody told me to put the stock rubber mount on the rear instead of the poly. and that would stop it

I tried that on my Hurst, no change. It still buzzes occasionally on acceleration. No big deal to me.
