I just bought a 2006 Mustang GT that has been converted from Sanderson customs that did the tribute package on it. They converted it from a gt mustang to a saleen mustang with the supercharger, racing suspension, 373 gears, and the Eleanor body kit. I took it out for my first test drive (race)and when I went through first and second gear the belt came off and got all ripped up. Does anyone know if their was a problem with the belts coming off of the saleen mustangs. If so is their a fix. I had to order the gatorback 109 inch belt to put back on. Another question is do you have to take the alternator and bracket off to install the belt. Thanks

You need a better belt tensioner.

Concerning your belt and pulley system, what sort of s/c pulley size are you running and what type of idler pulley?

I assume you still have the stock tensioner, which for most is sufficient. A better/stronger tensioner will only help to prevent it from bending. Also, what belt were you using when it came off?

I still have the stock tensioner, I had the gatorback 109"
