Default Aftermarket Short Throw Shifter Question

I was hoping this thread would serve as a bases for anyone considering to by an after market shifter.

My goal is that people who have purchased one will bare with me, and help those out who are considering buying one.

So far I've seen some pretty trick set up in my research. One of the coolest would be a fellow S197 owner with a MGW Short Throw Shifter (5spd) with his line lock button on his shifter knob.

Reviews please, and some picture of final installation

Mostly looking for the less common installs
-Steeda Tri-Axle
-MGW Short Throw
-Pro 5.0 Shifter

Just because there is less feed back

Thank You

I've run both the Hurst and the Pro 5.0. I liked both but the Pro 5.0 is a smoother shift. If I had a do-over, I'd probably get the MGW.

I'm not planning on buying one as of yet.

But I just checked out MGW's site, Amazing tech video kind of lengthy, and there kit has some stylish shifter knobs

I think the MGW is the best quality shifter for the GT.

Steeda knows Mustang better than any one else, period. I wouldnt trade my Tri-Ax for anything else. With that in mind its up to the driver and what they like. Some like the handle as low as possible others like it higher, some like the throw short and harsh, others like it quick yet smooth. The only way to know is try them on friends cars or just take a risk w/ one that is recomended. But w/ stuff like MGW, Steeda, Pro 5.0 you really cant go too wrong.

i personally just installed the hurst shifter on my 05 gt. i first saw it on my neighbors gt/cs, it really adds to the style of the interior, but lets be honest, if you buy a shifter for the style, you shouldn't own the car. my car is a weekend driver, with occasional trips to the track, and i mean occasional. i chose the hurst because of the greatly shortened throw, and i like the stiffer feeling, knowing that the car is in gear. it is a little clicky and cluncky at low rpms. so its not everyones cup of tea. what i mean by that is that at lower rpms, <2200, your actually shifting the car, its not just a flick of the wrist and its in, lol, but once you get into the higher rpm range its nice easy shifting. at 5500 rpm from 1st to 2nd just slid right in, which is more than perfect for a trip to the track.

if i were to change to a different shifter though, id most likely try the mgw. all though i havent seen / used one in person, i have heard great things about it.

I love the look of my Hurst. It's the billet version. No rattles. It's kinda notchy though.

From the research I've done. I've herd nothing but good things about MGW. There site is user friendly they have a great tech video.

Since I'm only 21 not many of my friends own S197s, so I can't exactly test the shifter out I was just wondering if they look as good as they feel?

This will tell you everything you want to know about the MGW in great detail. It took time to write it and it will take time to read it but you will get a better idea of why everyone raves about the MGW, at least from my point of view.
