Default 2005 GT Exhaust mods is recalibration necessary?

Howdy all! Newbie to this site, and to this car. Looking at shorty headers for the 4.6L for ease & cost of install, and would like to hear the forums' consensus on fit -n- finish of different brands. ALSO~ is ECU recalibration necessary or desireable for this mod? What performance/economy gains could I expect after programming? What's everyones' favorite manufacturer for said programming tool, and why?

Shorty headers do little for performance. And they are not THAT easy to install. They do sound good though.

Pypes probably has the cheapest, BBK probably has one of the best.

You don't NEED a recal for it, but if you don't have a tuner what are you waiting for?

SCT is the better of the handhelds, based off of my biased experience with it. The diablosport is pretty good too, but you will have a limited selection of dealers to get tuned from after the initial purchase with the Diablo.

In order to optimize the performance of the mods you need to get a tune.

If you live in California, you're only 'legal' option are the CARB-approved JBA shorty headers.
