Anyone know if there will be any rubbing problems if I put 20" wheels on a mostly stock 2008 GT/CS?
I am sure the rear will be fine but the front...you know...it does that whole...turning thing.
Any input would be great! Thanks!

I have 20x8.5 rims all way around, 255/35/20 Nitto 555s and no clearance issues at all. I hope to swap some day to 20x9 in front, 20x10 in rear. I also hope to upgrade to the Roush Stage3 suspension setup one day, which has me a little nervous about the 20x9 on the front. I'll have to figure that out when the bag of cash actually drops the from the sky. Anyway, I don't think you can go any larger than 9" wide in the front (even without any lowering suspension mods) without rubbing something somewhere.
I'd lower it but the main reason I am looking at larger tires is the fact that the side exhaust is dragging at times....NO BUENO!
What can I say...shes a work in progress
I'll look into wheels..but I also think I will look at larger diameter tires. I need to check on what's available.
Thanks for the input ya'll!

You are probably stuck with that exhaust dragging regardless of what you do. Trust me, it will look like a 4x4 if you put 20's on it without lowering it.
Well if most people lower to make less air gap between the car and the ground....then I disagree.
The side skirt is what is dragging so it's already very close to the ground. The 4x4 look comes from increasing the air gap which is very small...err too small right now.
Am I wrong?

Unless you put some insane meat under there, it's not going to significantly fill the wells any more than they already were. The springs are going to keep the car at the same height. A 275/35/20 is only ~.4 larger in diameter than a 235/55/17; not a noticeable difference and it is going to give it a real 4x4 look with rims that large. You add more meat to a large rim like that and it will just look like a truck.
And the ride will likely be pretty bad too; I felt like I was on stilts when I first got the 20's on.
But to answer your initial question, no, you won't rub with a 255/35 up front.
I bought a 1993 Ford Ranger last Friday that had the Sporza D5 20 inch rim with 225/35/20 for 750.00 and took them off and put them on my 08 Mustang with no problem yesterday and the 08 Mustang wheels is on the Ranger so I will be doing some custom work on the truck. Next on the agenda would be lowering it.
Well after closer inspection after i posted my last post...the skirts are not dragging. Its the exhaust. It sticks out WAY too much compared to the friggin rest of the belly of my car.
I did notice that I already shifted the passenger side one back a bit since I hit something.
I'm taking her to my local exhaust shop to see what they can do about fixing that a touch and adding a muffler to calm her down a bit.
Just too loud.... Me goofing off more- Video
Here are some photos too...
