So far so good - I built the
tranny and changed the torque converter, and swapped in a 1-pc drive shaft w/ safety loop for longevity / dependability, as the
tranny is not rated for that much power and very likely would disassemble itself eventually . Popular belief is the factory bottom end of the 3-valve is good for 450-500 HP with proper tune. More than that and forged internals are highly recommended.
My understanding with stick cars is that you would need a stronger clutch;
tranny is fine.
