It will not hurt a thing other than your speedo being off.

it is a auto.i will let you know how if i like them soon.i am pissed right now just got a call from the guy doing install quote went from 241 to 310 he said i needed a bearing he does not reuse. my car only had 12k but he said they can get messed up when taking them off. and i am going to use his oil and friction modifer because i am going to save my amsoil for when i change the oil after 500 miles brake in. i wish i would have known i bought the install kit but not the bearing kit.this gear swap is going to cost me 600 dollars i hope it is worth it.oh and he said he may not get it done today he has had it since 800 am this morning damn i am mad.

you dont need the new bearings but what ever. I hate when people just try to make a buck. But all that is fine... just hope they dont whine when it is finished.

i bet youll love em tho

No good installer would ever reuse bearings.

This is true, new bearing are necessary for a quality gear install.

When I was diagnosing a power issue in my car before I found out the 2 coils were bad.. the dealer told me:

"It's because you put in the 4.10 gears and the computer is calibrated to those gears and the timing of the car is now wrong because it's firing at the wrong time"

This was the LEAD tech too....

Needless to say that dealer was scratched off the list...

well there supposed to be okay to use up to 30k but i agree i would probably buy new bearings anyway. thats why i said that it sucks that you had to buy them but its probably good insurance anyway.

I agree on new bearings. I only had 4K miles on my car when I changed the gears and had them install new bearings. Just not worth the chance. If you figure the cost of the labor for the gear change and then have to go back later because of a bearing change, you just blew the savings that you had for the bearings. Not worth the gamble.

yea it was a little higher than what i wanted to pay! but i think he done a good job.they are a little noisey but not a whine and not a roar.its hard to explain like i can hear the gears or drive shaft speening really fast and slinging oil.or maybe like a quite fan blades spining.but it seems to be geting better the more i drive it.as far as liking them frankly i cant notice them at all beside the slight noise and a little higher rpms and my speedo way off it says i am going like 80mph at 2k rpm wonder how far of the speedo really is.but i am being really easy on them so it maybe i cant tell because i am grany it. its going to suck to spend 600 dollars on a mod and cant see if you even like what you bought till 500 miles later.i know i will be trying to but 500 miles on this thang reall fast .well thats my two cents about my gear swap to 410 from 331 in my 06 gt auto.will update after 500 mile are up. i feel sorry for my two bake tires when the 500 miles are up. haha
