Default Mustang 2007 GT-Check engine light is on after BBK cold air intake install

I installed a BBK cold air intake on my 07 gt/cs. Before i started the install, i unplugged the battery. As i finished i installed the battery and started the car. It sounded great, but a few minutes later, the check engine light tripped. That same night i unplugged the battery and left it unplugged all night.. The next morning i plugged it back in and yet again the light tripped. Did anyone else have this problem? If so how did you fix it, even if you can fix it?

Do a search and you'll find several posts on Mustang boards with your exact problem. The BBK intake is tripping the check engine light because it's running lean. You'll need to purchase a tuner to fix the problem from Brenspeed, Bamachips, etc. They say "no tune" necessary, but it really needs a tune...

In the meantime, the only solution is to reinstall the factory intake and unhook the battery cable, which should work. If not have the code cleared for free at your local auto parts store.

Yup, you are going to need a tune. You will cause engine damage running too lean.
