Also check out the Magnaflow Tru-X pipe. It's well made and priced somewhere between the Pypes and the Bassani x-pipes. The Pypes (which I got for free) has a clam shell connected type X. The Bassani is more like the Magnaflow, but I like the authentic x of the Magnaflow over the irregular x of the Bassani. It just seems like the Magnaflow would flow a little better.

I have the Pypes off-road X with the Borla Stingers and it sounds good but a little raspy. Very loud too, but that's okay. I'd get an offroad H pipe if I were to do it again.

Unless you add the regular Magnaflows, all o/r mid-pipes seem too loud. I was lucky to be able to test drive several axleback mufflers, before purchase. Included here is the Magnaflow Magnapacks, FRPP stingers and Pypes Violators. The Magnaflows quiet the o/r beast to an acceptable level, which is important for an o/r set-up here in the Nazi emission state of California. So far, no hassles by the cops. What's more, I've had an o/r h and x and they sound almost the same with the Magnaflows. The o/r x sounds better at WOT and is only slightly less deep in tone than the o/r h, having no "raspiness" at all. That was very surprising to say the least.

this si true. an offroad x will be raspy, but some guys like the loud raspy sound. And some like the deeper soud that comes from the Hpipes.
If you want jsut go on youtube and type in some exhaust brands for S197. Find something you like. I was gunna go with the Hpipe with my new Longtubes, but i decided to kee the X b/c i like that rasp lol.
