Got the whole thing together and triple checked all my connections. Let it set for a couple hours for the RTV to dry enough to drive it, and as soon as I started moving, the AF went to 16..
Only bogged once, but until it was at temp, mid throttle sent the AF off the scale. Car did feel more powerful, but then again it is 30 degrees cooler outside than today. Surprisingly, I was cruising in 2nd at 30 mph (about 3100 rpm) and I dropped the hammer and lost traction.. took off harder than I have ever felt in 2nd. Soon as I was off the throttle it misfired a couple times and the AF was all over the place again. Few minutes later the engine was to temp, but the AF jumped off the scale 2 more times at mid throttle, and sputtered once in boost.
Much better than today, but for all I know that could be from the temperature difference.
I got it back in the garage and popped the hood and sprayed carb cleaner on all the vacuum fittings, and no change in RPM or tone. Then I had my son hold the throttle at 2k rpm steady and repeated.. no changes. It acts like a vacuum leak but I can't find a vacuum leak.
Time to sleep on it again.. we will see what it does tomorrow when it's hot again.

Per KB, as a troubleshooting method, I reinstalled factory plugs. Didn't change anything. I can rule out plugs as a problem.
Re-sealing the supercharger hasn't done anything for the cold run problem, but seemed to help on the issues I was having on Friday.. Car is back to running well once it's out of cold run. Waiting on new tunes from KB for cold run adjustments.
Trying to buy a tuner cheap so I can datalog. I am kicking myself for selling my SCT X3 every time I think about it. I KNEW I should have kept it until all the bugs were worked out. Live and Learn.
After 2 car shows this weekend, I can't help but think of how cool it would be to start a new project.. I can't afford to finish this one, but still, those cobra kits are friggin sweet.. and after dealing with these new engines, I yearn for a good ole pushrod in a light car..

So if the tunes don't sort it out are you going to ask them to replace the compressor?
I don't think anything is wrong with the compressor now.. They are sending a new snout that I have to swap, and send the old one back so they can figure out what went wrong with it. The upside is I don't have to pull the unit off again, the downside is I still don't know the exact problem.
With good weather here, I have been getting some miles on it, and the problem pretty much goes away once the car is warmed up..
I will try the new tune, and next week I will order the Aeroforce gauge. On top of that I am shopping for a diablo or sct so I can datalog the problem. If all that fails, I have a buddy that is a mechanic and he will take the car and try to track down the problem.
I am anxious for next week.. I can order my parts.. I'm getting LCA's and reloc brackets, upper adjustable, the gauges, and some camber bolts for the front struts. I am also talking to an airbrush artist about doing my stripes with some ghosted true fire with skeleton ponies behind it.. So many things to do and much of it has been on the back burner because of this problem, so I am anxious to get past it.

What kind of flash tuner are you using? An old Xcal1?

At the moment, I only have the device they sent, which is for upload only.. The hardware is the Hypertech E-Con, with the KB tune(s) and no options.
Since I sold my SCT X3, I now have to buy something cheap to datalog with. I am looking to get a diablosport or another SCT.. I will probably sell it after this problem is resolved because I really can't use it for tuning, unless I want to throw out the KB tune.

I didn't realize they'd switched to Hypertech. They used to use the old first generation SCT tuners.
Well, I am done trying to solve this problem. I need a fresh set of eyes on it, so next week it goes to a mechanic friend and he will drive it for a few days and see if he can troubleshoot it.
I got the new tune from KB, which gave me slightly more fuel at cold run. The first time I got into WOT with cold run, it went rich and threw a P1072 code. But it also was still leaning out at partial throttle sometimes, during cold run. The only thing I am convinced of is that it is not a tune issue.
My gut is telling me I am sucking air somewhere that can seal up when the engine is warm. That doesn't leave much, but I already pulled the supercharger and ran some silicone around the seal, so I don't think it's there. I doubt the manifold is leaking, since it uses the same rubber gaskets the factory uses, although it is one of the few things I haven't checked. I have tried to find a vacuum leak in the system and just don't find one.
Unless there is a bunch of bad injectors, or a bad FRPS, a bad TB, or a bad IAT sensor, it has to be sucking air from somewhere. So it's time to let someone else troubleshoot it.
The oil problem is solved.. KB sent out a new snout and I replaced it and no leaks now.

Could be, but I will have to have some hard data before KB will send me a new one. I should have kept the second one they sent! I played the nice guy and sent it back when I sent back the factory box setup.. They even called to ask why I sent it back
My aeroforce gauge will be in Wednesday and I will be able to see what the FRP and IAT are when it happens, and I can go from there..
I went back to the vacuum switch for the BAP, and the idle is still "hunting" after coming off throttle, dropping as low as 300 rpm and as high as 1200 before settling back to ~750. I thought it was because when I went to run the BAP always on, the computer was having a harder time finding 750 rpm with the higher rail pressure. The problem started the day I bypassed the pressure switch. Also on the highway with cruise control on at 70 mph, the vacuum surges between 5 and 8 inches and you can feel it surging.. when I push in the clutch after that, it sometimes stalls trying to find idle.
I disconnected the battery this weekend for a few hours, then started it and let it idle for about 20 minutes to see if it would "reset", but it still does it..
The good news is my suspension parts started arriving, so I might postpone sending the car to the mechanic until Friday, and put the suspension on Wednesday night. I am looking forward to seeing if the torque limiter helps with shifting.. And I am impressed with CHE's quality.. these welds are awesome! (and the stuff showed up 2 days early!)
