Staggered wheels question 2007 Mustang gt

just ordered a set of 18 x 9 f and 18 x 10 r wheels for my
07 gt....need to know for sure what size tires should fit with no problems...thinking about 255/45 f and 285/40 r....but could i put 245/40 all around without a problem in the wells?? Thanks so much...if i should go with the wider tires,
any suggestions on where to shop??

285 is getting up there. thats some good meat.

keep us posted and get some pics. unfortuneatly 225/55/r16 is all that i can fit on my car with out it looking liek driveing on marshmellows

i'm not sure about 245/40 all around but on my 18x9 and 18x 10 i have 255/45 and 285/40. check out Mustang Parts & Performance - American Muscle

NT555's seems to be pretty popular , they grip real good. not so sure if 15000 miles under "normal" driving is your cup of tea, i guess it depends on how you plan to drive your car. i'm pretty sure i'll need new rear tires well before 15000 miles. next time around i'm thinking about going like 295 or 305 in the rear, if nothing else for looks

I have 255/45 up front and 295/45s out back. No problems with clearance. you can actually get 275/45s all the way around. But I wouldn't go with them on the front unless your road racing.

275-45s will only work with certain offset wheels.

Are you sure the advice you are getting is accurate? The answer is no. There are all sorts of people that do stuff wrong and then pas that information along like they are some sort of authority. Be careful who you take advice from.

Check out the specifications for the tires you will be running and they will tell you what rim size they recommend for their particular tire. It’s a safe bet they know what they are talking about.

Tire A which is a 255 may be designed for a different width rim than tire B which is also a 255.

For example here is a chart for som BFG Comp TA KD's and what they recomed for rim size.

That is 100% correct. You need to look at the tire your thinking of using to make sure of the rim size recommendation. You need to match up both to be safe.

I will be getting 18x9 and 18x10 rims. Nitto NT555 255/45/18 will fit the 9" rims and the 295/45/18 will fit the 10" rims.

I dont know the exact sizes like ur talking about but i have 20x8f 20x10r on my GT with a lowering kit and it has full turn radius and fits amazing. 0 problems no performance loss and honestly looks great aside from the fact when i go into down town atlanta every brother on earth down there wants to race... oh well but anyways i doubt ull have any problem. any bigger then 20 in and it just wont fit.../ will look trashy as well in my opinion

I think you'll be fine.
I've got 275\40R\20 rear & 255\40R\20 front. Car is lowered and only problems is if I hit a serious dip or bump @ hwy speed. It will rub in the rear. However never had company in the back seat. Who the hell would want to ride in the back of a mustang anyway???

best fit - meaning no mods/spacers etc. and closest to stock total outside rolling diameter - meening same revs per mile, for 18x9 front and 18x10 rear is the 255/45 & 285/40.... just do it!! By the way, I am using BFG KDW's, and the seem pretty nice so far; also they don't sling up as many pebbles as the Perelli's if that matters....
