I am interested in the SLP Loudmouth Catback Exhaust Kit. Will I loose HP? Or Gain?

Going price is around 330$. Worth the investment?

The consensus seems to be they do not add power. A small few will say otherwise. I put on FRPP Stingers and really felt no increase. Only you can answer if they are worth it. They will add what many say is the best sound to your car and look alot better than stock. This months 5.0 Magazine has a bolt on dyno thrash. Corsa exhaust (Which Corsa claims add 14hp) added 1-5hp and 1-5 torque at various points throughout the rpm range. With dyno margin error the gains are small to say the least.

But everyone will hear you coming.

I just ordered Boom Tubes and UPS delivered them today, so with any luck I'll be able to tell you for sure after this weekend.
From what I've heard though aftermarket axle backs are really just for sound.

If there is a horsepower gain it would be so small I doubt it would matter. On the other hand aren't straight through mufflers much lighter by a fair margin?

I can't remember if my Borlas were 16 lbs lighter combined or 16 lbs lighter per side...

if there is HP to be freed, its gonna be in the headers and stock cats... axlebacks wont add anything... they do generally reduce lbs. tho; my Roush axlebacks are a good 20+ lbs lighter than the stock pieces combined.

Nothing you bolt to your car is an investment. Unless getting $.25 on the $1 is considered an investment.

Nothing depreciates faster than go fast parts.

No gain or loss of horsepower. You will lose a little wait and gain a better sound and looks. Still worth it.
