Default Help - Install Tape Stripe

how hard is this on a scale from 1-10. and i mean like i dont want little bubbles, i want it to be perfect. this would be my first time doing anything like this. should i just get it professionally done? becuase if i mess up, there goes 79 dollars. i have watched videos on this, and i mean it looks hard. i have this stuff for my computer called invisible sheild. its a plastic cover that you apply with like thhis liquid and then sqeegy it out. sorry about my spelling. but long story short. there are bubbles all over. and i dont have patients. so whats your opinion on what i should do? and how much should installation cost

If you dont want the hassle id just have the same shop they will put ur hood scoop on do ur striping at the same time just to save some $$ I found this on another forum

"Ok, I am starting to think serious about getting stripes on my baby and I need some help. I live in Phoenix, AZ. Does anyone know of a good shop in this area that does vinyl stripe installation for a good price? I priced it at the dealership and they are quoting me around $500.00 for the stripes and installation. Is this a good price? Can I do better? "

So if thats what a dealer quotes... personally id do it urself take the time get it right then use that couple extra hundred to get a CAI or something else that you would like.

alright, thanks. i just spoke tosomeone here, and he said that it only cost him 50 bucks for installation, and if striped only cost 80 bucks, i think its worth it to get it professionaly done. and i know people, good friends of mine who might do it for free.

and right now, im doing all my performance upgrades first, then exterior. i really want a hood scoop, but it's pricey. i think im doing a stripe, and then some side window louvers, and then a scoop or something. do you have an opinion on what i should do?

I have the roush louvers on my that look great. They are my personal fav because they fit the car extremely well and are not puny like the flush mounted. Also the Cervini ones are popular and ive seen them on many cars an look great. Those are the 2 i would really check out. look at AmericanMuscle and also at both companies sites. sometimes the prices are alil cheaper on the makers sites. https://www.cervinis.com/product.aspx?car=1&id=1208 PART#4305
ROUSH Performance: ROUSH® Ford Mustang Quarter Window Louvers

As far as hood scoops go, I have the stock one from the factory on mine but my personal fav is the roush scoop which i dont believe needs to be drilled but isnt just taped. It has fasteners so you dont have to drill ur hood. Its also cheaper then the cervini one which i personally dont like quite as much.

This is the roush site for it
ROUSH Performance: ROUSH® Ford Mustang Hood Scoop
and this is AM prices similar like 5 dollar difference but AM does free shipping.
Roush Mustang Hood Scoop (05-09) at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping!

Hopefully this will give u a few ideas look at the pics AM has up on customer reviews and pics for each product. See what u think. Put those on ur exterior and uve instantly make ur car unique for really a cheap price considering what a body kit would be. Pm me if u have any ?'s GL

Are we talking shelby style stripes? If so, I would run from the guy charging only $50 bucks. I do vinyl installs for shelby stripes $300 material and labor. It takes about a whole day for a quality job with zero bubbles. I am the lowest price installer in my area. $500 from a dealership is a competitive price for this type of project. I was quoted 970 to do mine... that is how I got into doing it myself.

I installed my BOSS stripes myself, and it was relatively straightforward and easy. Just make sure you are 100% sure of what you're doing (aka, read the instructions multiple times) and you'll be just fine.
