Ok this is gonna sound a little out there and crazy and this probably isn't your problem, but, I have leather int. and when it's hot out sometimes certain parts of the seat kinda "sticks and unsticks" together where the backrest meets the bottom and it makes a weird clicking or almost "static" like noise when I go over bumps. Again, probably not it, but that's what I thought of when I read about your dilema, it drove me nutz till I figured it out. Hopefully your micro-fiber solution works buddy!

Oh dude, I know exactly what you mean with this leather! I usually only experienced the rattle early in the morning (cold) and it wasn't so bad on the way home (hot!).
It gets up to 115 degrees out & over 160 degrees inside a car... Probably more with all black leather interior! But it's for the ladies, you know what I mean?
I read someone's comment a while ago saying "These cars are so well built you can hear all the rattles!" as if it were a good thing. It's a Ford... Rattles are aren't problems, they're features!

As for bad rattles I had a pen in the door panel map holder.that thing rattled like crazy when I had the radio turned up.Took that sucker and threw it out the window.
Glad its fixed good idea with the towel ..its probably pinching it up so it cant bang around....... I knew it had to be the tensioner.
One thing for sure is the cutouts in the trunk make it barely accessible no doubt.
Good job
Thanks! After driving around a ton yesterday, the rattle is still there... I'm gonna try to reposition the towel, but if that doesn't do the trick I'll try foam.

LOL! That exact thing happened to me... I went through about a week of unbelievably annoying rattling... Then thought to check in the driver side door... A PEN! DOH!

Huh... That's weird... Well now I know where to look if this doesn't 100% fix the problem.

Yah, and loose change too. I even heard about one where some loose change somehow got behind the front speaker grill somehow.
