For everyone's reference, Ford's engineering dept. has designed the Bullitt's CAI heat shield so that it forms a tight seal with the hood blanket in order to increase performance by minimizing the volume of hot underhood air that the engine inhales.

Ford's engineering dept. has also installed a CAI heat shield in the Shelby GT 500 that is also designed to isolate the air filter from hot underhood air in order to increase performance.
