just about any of the modern design superchargers can make that amount of hp. At some point in time you get used to the level you have and want more.....kinda like money.......the Techco is good up to 1000hp. That ought to fulfill any future desires...Ga

Going for 500hp is like stepping off of a cliff. If you keep it down to about 450hp great, there is not a lot of support work to do. But going for 500hp is like going for 700hp. A whole bunch of support parts are needed.
Your going to want to decide if you will never want to go over 450hp, have the option of going over 450hp or lastly planning on going over 450hp and to what.
I am on my billionth Mustang at this point and I think the best advice I can give is that you need to have a plan right from the start and stick to it. If you don’t you will never end up with what you want and you will spend 3-4 times the money that you needed too.
I knew EXACTLY what I was going to do to my car before I picked it up at the dealer (I already had a pile of parts before I picked it up at the dealer). I will also know when I am done with my car too. And the car is still going to end up costing a LOT of money.
I built a car a long time ago (red one in my gallery) and literally spent 3-4 times the money that I needed to because I didn’t have a plan. I also ended up with a car that did a lot of things well. But it didn’t do anything perfect. It was one long expensive project/lesson.

The Saleen seems to be right in the middle of the KB and the Whipple. It's a good drop in blower that will guess what? Thats right make about 440-450hp. It has good low end and midrange and can be wrung out to make more HP than the Whipple but wont make the big numbers the KB will (the KB wil make some seriously stupid numbers though)
A guy here (who dumped his rods on the track last year) is running a saleen with the biggest overdrive pulley he can find, and the smallest blower pulley he can get from Saleen, and with a built stroker (techco shortblock, blower cams, etc) he only gets 12 psi boost up here at 3300 ft.(measured at 6700 ft equivalent at the track). That is every inch of what that blower can do, and he is maybe making 600-620 at the wheels. His goal is 700 rwhp at our elevation (about 750 at sea level). Time for a KB, but he was eyeing the Techco, although when he bought the shortblock they told him he couldn't do more than 650 at the wheels with the techco blower and that engine. I have not seen anyone get more than 600 rwhp with the techco yet, but its a 3 liter blower, it ought to be capable of 20 psi boost.. the 2.6l KB can do 19 psi at sea level on a 4.6, and the 2.8l mammoth KB can do 26 psi.. Maybe the Techco just isn't made to spin that fast so they don't sell small enough pullies to make more than 15 or 16 psi boost.. ?
As Sqidd said, the 2.6l KB is at it's most inefficient with the big pulley, but I look at it as not only inexpensive for a complete intercooled twin screw, but also if I decide to build the engine I have the capability of much more.
That is not to say you wouldn't be happy with any of the choices..
