Default 2006 Mustang GT acceleration hesitation

Hey guys, After driving on the highway for a while, when i come to a stop at a light then go sometimes there is a hesitation. the car starts to go then cuts out momentarilythen all is fine. It has happened 5 or 6 times in the past year. Is it just the computer hiccupping? I'm not to worried about it, just wanted to know what you guys thought. thanks!

These is a TSB on this for a fuel pump issue. Check the TSB sticky at the top of this forum.

Default 2006 mustang gt acceleration hesitation

I also have acceleration hesitation after I have been driving on the highway for a while then come to a stop. It only happens in first and second during acceleration. The car hiccups then accelerates just fine after that. It doesnt happen all the time, but enough to concern me and want to fix it. I tried running mid grade verses regular but it still does it. Any ideas?

There is also some goofy stuff the ECU does as part of its “learning” process. Depending on how I am driving my car (beating on it, cruising around town, playing Autobahn) it will sometimes start to develop a hesitation or a “dead spot” in the pedal travel. You can disconnect your battery for 10 minutes or so and the ECU will reset itself. I have a breaker inline so I just kill it every time I park it in the shop. Recently I learned that if you disconnect the battery with the key in the “run” (NOT START OR MOTOR RUNNING) position the ECU resets a LOT more stuff. It certainly has improved my drivability going with the “key” method and it takes a lot longer for the ECU to start acting goofy again.
