Default Hoodliner Problem

My hoodliner on my '06 has come unattached in certain spots causing it to lay on the plenum cover causing a dark area on it. Anyone have any suggestions as to an adhesive that might work. I have tried interior headliner adhesive but it will not hold...maybe because of the heat. Also tried velcro but to no avail.

Thanks

Are you missing some of the pushpin retainers?

Just buy and aftermarket hood liner from ebay. They look alot better than stockl. But if you dont want to buy a new one, go to an auto store and they will sell 3m brands that are ment for extreme heat.

you can get push pins with bigger heads if the holes in the liner are tore a little. those should hold it up. i bought some bigger push pins, cut them shorter and ground down the tree part to fit the holes in the hood. i broke a few removing the liner to do the scoop, and a few removing it again to recheck the scoop nuts

Default Hoodliner

Thanks...the pins are still in place, it is between them that is the problem. I'll try aftermarket on ebay or some type of adhesive for extreme heat. I would think taking it off would cause a problem with the paint on the hood from the heat.

Its on there to help the car pass noise emissions. Not protect the paint. I removed the hood liner from every Mustang I have had (16 so far) and have never, ever had a paint issue. And there may even be an argument that it will allow more heat to escape the engie compartment by using the hood as a giant heat sink.

I like the idea of getting an '08 hoodliner so the strut tower brace will fit better. I have the plenum cover already but not the brace. Thanks everyone.

I can make one for you if you haven't picked one up already, I make them from aircraft firewall material and can make them for Mustangs from 1964 to 2010, and they come with a heat-resistant decal.

More info and pics that enlarge are at my blog:

Hoodliners for Ford Mustangs, and other cars

Thanks!!
