two of my friends have 05 GT, one is auto and the other is stick. both of them are complaining from spontaneous loss of power that occurs in different conditions.
what can be the problem(s)?
Thats really not a whole lot of info. Adaptive learning reset? Stock tune?Plugs? Fuel filter? Air Filter? And theres probably no way both have the same problem other than a stock tune. Idk More Info.

I like this answer - best suspect is the stock tune - the tune wants the car to drive smooth, shift smooth, not let tires slip, get good fuel economy, etc....

the auto has a custom tune while the manual doesn't,,
all plugs and filters are checked and in good conditions,,
the problem happens in unpredictable manner,, it comes and goes away all the time in any given condition,,
rev limiter? Are these guys hitting high 'R's when they encounter loss of power under varying conditions.
Curious about the conditions.
Day/Night
Hot/Cool
Wet/Dry
Tues/Thurs
Sun glasses on/off
Windows up/down
Sounds like a ghost! But yes you may have to ride along to try and get any details you can. If you cant pin point any common factors, such as to hot or running the cars high in the rpms. What grade gas are they running, nobody will be able to help you find the problem with out some info. More Details.

If the power loss you are experiencing is just something you can feel as opposed to anything mechanical (hesitation, pinging etc...)
then it is normal for Jeddah.
It's just because of the insanely hot temps. Our cars get heat soaked easily.
Happens to me all the time... There's a major difference for me between driving during the day and at night when the temps are a little cooler. Even more so when the AC is running (which is all the time in Saudi!!).
I guess you just have to learn to accept it and enjoy the extra power during the cooler times of the year.
Also, always drive with the TCS off.

I recently had the same problem, Ford dealer said that my fuel system was dirty, they changed the fuel pump and clean out the tank. It's ok now.
They also said that they tested the fuel quality around Jeddah and found that only two companies are careful about the quality of fuel. I can't remember the second one but the first recommendations NAFT. I used NAFT since three months now and the problem did not occur again. They also said to avoid the petrol stations which have the yellow sign with the green propeller at any cost. They said these guys have the dirtiest petrol in town.
