Default 2007 Mustang GT Off-road X pipe troubles?

I have an 07 GT with Flowmaster American Thunder mufflers already installed. I have been trying to get an off-road X-pipe to go along with it. However, I am aware that the check engine light will show due to the lack of Cats with the off-road pipes. Is there anyway to get around this without having to buy a tuner at a god-awful price?

Not really since MIL eliminators will not work on your car.

... and welcome aboard!

A catted X won't be nearly as loud as the offroad but still louder than stock.

There are numerous topics about o/r x and flowmasters. You should seriously reconsider that setup as it will produce a raspy, tinny sound. It will sound nothing like a muscle car and more like an import. Either switch to an o/r h or prochamber or switch your axlebacks to a bullet style such as SLP proflows, stingers, maganpacks or bassani race.

Catless X-pipes generally don't sound good at all on these cars.

Best options to go with are:

1. Spend the money and get a catted X-Pipe.

2. Spend the same amount of money as an off rod x and go with an Off Road H pipe.(They sound better with Flows anyway)

3. Spend more money then the aforementioned and get a Off Road Prochamber.

4. Take the cheapest route (like I did) and hack off your stock H pipe right behind the cats and slip an x-pipe over it.

You will need a hand held tuner to turn off the O2 sensors for off road mid pipes.
