Default 3v Cylinder head install

I've searched on here and I am wondering if this has been done by one of our amateur mechanic members? How difficult was it? Did you have to pull the engine to do it? or drop the engine out?

It can be done with the engine in the car though it makes it far more difficult.

I've posted a link with some pictures before. 5.0 mag did it not too long ago. Bring your lunchpail though; it's going to be a long day if you do this yourself.

Good point since there will almost certainly be a tool required that you don't have in your toolbox!

Might want to keep the youngsters with “tender ears” away also if your inclined to the occasional verbal outburst.

Default ummm anything positive to say?

Wow, so none of you have braved this mod? Sounds like if I am there I better make good use of pulling the motor like a stroker w/ forged internals. What do shops charge for a head change on our cars?

Ya I did it myself.............but the engine wasn't in the car

If you have someone else do it I think its somewhere around a bazillion dollars.....parts are extra

When you look at what all is involved in pulling the heads and all the more the HP gain is on a NA engine its not surprising that it's not a common mod.

IMOP it is by far simpler to drop the engine and transmission out of the car, but most people don't have the tools to do that.

Mine were done with the engine out too. Did heads cams and internal guts at the same time.

Just had some new heads put in, helped my tuner with the engine still in the car. He made it look easy haha but i needed a drink after that day.
