I took a Shelby GT500 (just a GT500, not a KR) for a spin.
It was fun.
It was not $50,000 fun, at least not on my budget
Question is, what're the RWHP and torque numbers for this beast?
I think the older ones 2007-2009 make 430-440 to the wheels. They just weigh so much. But still if I had the money at the time I would of got one. You can make huge power with a blower swap with the Whipple 3.4. Im not sure how much a 2010 makes to the wheels but Im sure its impressive.

I believe the 2010's are dynoing in the 500-510 RWHP range, like mentioned above the 07-09's in the 430-440 RWHP range.

I think the 2010's have 540 hp at the crank now. Not really sure, so hopefully someone can confirm it. So I guess that's the reason for the increased rwhp.
For the overall price and power you get for that price it's not worth it. A standard GT with upgrades can do the same or better with less weight.
Yeah but you dont have to rebuild your bottom end to get to super high power numbers. I wish the thing used an aluminum block though. Motor Trend stated that the GT500 in 2010 started using knock sensors so it had more aggressive timing tables. Still with 500rwhp thats like 580 -590 at the crank. With a facotry warranty!

The 2010's are 540 now yes. They put on the KR cold air kit and tune. My 2007 was 430 hp and 420 tq stock. With the JLT cai and 2.6 pulley I am now at 530 hp and tq. It is a much different car now. The cai and pulley was like 1200 if I remember.

TopGear (British TV show) dynoed an old one at 450 RWHP.
I am not sure about the new 2010 MY. anything above 500 RWHP seams high to me.
EXAMPLE: for 550 RWHP, an 100 RWHP increase would be necessary. That means aprox. 125 crank HP.
There is two ways to get there:
-> Cheap. Pulley size and remapping the ECU (not to great in regards of longevity)
-> Expensive: Change in Blower size or blower style (t-screw instead of roots), and remapping the ECU
There is a vast differance between a GT and a GT500 other then just power and it is much cheaper to build power out of then a GT I've put about $6000. in to mine including labor and not only increased power but also suspension upgrades as of the last dyno run I'm doing 650HP/663TRQ

The '07-'09 GT500 had 500 hp at the crank while the 2010 has 540 at the crank, the same as the '08GT500KR (CAI, tune, and suspension). Somebody was saying the 2010 GT500 was under rated at 540 hp, kind of like the '03 &'04 Cobras, but that may or may not be true.
