has anyone dynoed 110 race gas, jlt cai and tune on a s197 gt do i need to regap my plugs to be colder? don't want to burn a hole in the piston and i half to drive to the strip and fill up there so i will have about 50-20 mi to empty on 93, would it work if i got some octane boost and added it to the 110 to make up for the 93 still left in the tank? or am i just wasting my time with the octane boost? thanks everybody
The tune is Very important when running Octane that high, I've seen Cobras lose RWHP running Race Fuel on the Dyno.
You can make pretty good power over 93 IF you dial it in correctly but it's a trail and error process!
And instead of paying BIG $$$ for 110 just Mix Torco or Lucas Octane Booster with 93!
Those are the only 2 that work as claimed!!
i dont think 110 octane is the answer for additional hp. you might end up causing permanent damage. your engine will try to compensate for the rich mix by changing your timing but do you know how much your computer can compensate for. as far as i know the ecu is capable of 2 degrees if that... good luck
Instead of octane booster go get about a dozen NOS stickers all over your car, it does about the same thing performance wise.
If you are filling up at the track I would get as low as you can on 93, fill up with 110, then use about a 1/4 tank before switching to the 110 tune to make sure you have gotten the 110 into your engine.
