Hello everyone!

Today we had around 10 minutes of hail down here in El Paso TX. It was golf ball sized hail and it did a LOT of damage to my roof, left side of the body and door, hood and trunk of the car. I've been on hold for the last 30 min with my insurance company.

If any of you knowledgeable fellows have had this sort of terrible experience and can give me some guidance regarding what will need to be done. Will repainting the car be needed? will it look the same as before after the repairs are done?

I've only had my 09' gt for about six months and it really sucks that this happened to it i feel like sh*t. Your assistance will be greatly appreciated i havent felt this bad in ages.

Depends on how bad it is. Paintless dent repair can sometimes take care of it.

A good PDR (paintless dent removal) technician should be able to make it look like it never happend. make sure you have comprehensive insurance coverage on your plan though. You dont want to pay out of pocket for the damage, it can be upwards of thousands of dollars for most hail cars. good luck to you!

Yea that really sucks. Out of all damage that can happen, hail can really **** up a car. Chances are you will need a new hood , trunk lid, and roof replacement , then have those painted. And possibly dent removal if damage was done to a panel that can be easly replaced. But that depends on the damage, those dent removal guys can do wonders not known to ordainary men.

All right, talked to the insurance company and they made an appointment for me to have the damage evaluated next month since they are booking up really fast for all of my neighborhood. Where would be the best place for me to take my car? straight to my ford dealer? What do you guys suggest?

The same happened to my truck about 8 years ago. insurance wanted to just fill and smooth the damage but my body man said no way. They replaced the fender, hood, roof panel, quarter panel and reskinned the door. I paid extra for them to paint the whole thing and it came out looking new with nary a ding.

Don't settle for half-assed fixes unless you are going to get rid of it soon. I took mine to a privately owned shop that a friend had used with great results a year or so before. They also did my Mustang after I slayed the deer with it last year.
