Default centering axleback exhaust tips

Currently trying to install a set of Violators axlebacks on my 06 stang. Just wondering if there is any simple way to center the exhaust tips without having to take the mufflers back off and do a trial and error with bending the hangers? Iv'e also noticed that my passenger side seems to hang a bit lower also. It is definitly a little more difficult than I thought it would be, exspecially not having a jackstand. ANY tips at all would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Try to loosen up the over the axel pipe at the x pipe then reposition everything and work your way to the back. Seems to be the only way to get everything lined up.

Thanks, i'll try messing with that. Just wish it would line up a lot easier for a simple bolt on...

It's not difficult of a task really- you just loosen the bolts a little bit to give some wiggle room, adjust to where you like, and tighten them back up...

Helps if you have a friend hold the mufflers where you want them when you tighten it back up. Also important to have the suspension loaded when you do this. You can reach the midpipe clamp without lifting the car.

still struggling with these aaxle baks lol i have the tips lines up, but the passenger side muffler is slightly leaning towards the right to where it is definitly noticable if your lookign at the car from the back..Any suggestion? is the only way to fix this is to pull off the whole muffler and try to bend the hangers or are there possible better hanger brackets that I can buy? Thanks

Did you rotate them using the overaxle pipe trick?

um?? Not sure. I tried putting them on myself Sunday and the passenger tip was to low. Was able to take it to the shop for a quick fix for that but they claimed they were not able to fix the tilting muffer because, "Thats the way it fits the hangers". What trick are you talking about?

Do you have to leave the muffler hangers slightly loose to do this?

Posts 2-4 above. Very simple procedure and I'll bet it solves your issue.

Yes... And you should be able to reach under there and loosen without lifting it. I do it all the time.

There's a lot of adjustability in those overaxle pipes. You'll be surprised how much.

You should be able to line things by following the above recommendations. If you are still having problems, you can also try a set of Pypes exhaust hangers (part number HFM60). The Pypes product offers a more ridgid rubber and will hold the muffler in place much better the soft factory product. I installed these hangers and they maintain the muffler position better and do not let the muffler bounce as you drive down the road.
