Default Eibach lowering springs/camber adjustment bolts.

So I dropped off my car at the ford dealership to have my springs installed this morning. I told them that i also provided the eibach camber adjustment bolts that the vendor told me were neccesary to adjust the front end alignment. However the dealership said they never heard of these bolts and they were not needed to adust the camber. D'oh!!! What gives? What's the general consensus out there? Are these bolts needed or not? Worst case scenario I am only down $30. Also, how much can i expect them to charge me to install these springs?

Thanks

DB

They're confused... There is zero camber adjustment from the factory.

I when never go to a dealership for wheel and tire issues after my experience with a Ford dealer up here. The dealer ruined a completely good set of tires on my F-150 and refused to admit it.

I have an Eibach suspension and the bolts were necessary to correct a negative camber issue. My car now sits at -.5* camber and I have not had any wear issues since readjusting. Just watch your tread pattern. You may need to return for an alignment "tune-up" once the suspension settles a little.

Try NOT to use the aftermarket camber bolts, The are too thin and tend to shift under heavy loads. We have had the best results from slotting the upper strut hole and lock it down with the factory hardware.

The real answer is a camber kit! Also, don't forget, the springs are going to make your struts and shocks wear out faster now too. Any decent shop with any knowlege should only charge you about $200 or LESS to install 4 springs and the alignment should be around $100 to $150 with driver weight compensation and thrust angle (YOU WILL NEED TO CORRECT YOUR THRUST ANGLE WITH THE ADDITION OF A PAN HARD BAR, FACTORY UNIT HAS NO ADJUSTMENT) or the car will dog track and the driver side rear wheel will sit more outboard than the other.

E-mail me if you have any questions
