Red face valve cover noise

Hey guys I have a 2006 mustang gt my warranty already expired and I can hear a vibration noise under the driver side valve cover it almost sound as if there was a cell phone vibrating under the valve cover. No power loss or rough idle but I cannot figure out what it is its not close to the timing chain its more to the middle of the valve cover can you guys tell me what it might be?

Take a section of rubber hose and hold one end to the cover and the other to your ear to see if you can isolate the noise.

Are you sure the valve cover is tightened down securely?

PCV valve is likely buzzing. Check for a small vacuum leak some where between the cam cover fitting and the intake.

The PCV valve is built INTO the cover and not servicable (without ridiculous effort).

I put a set of refurbished powder coated valve covers on mine and got excessive blow-by. I put the stockers back on and problem went away. Moral of the story is you might put a catch can in there and see if the pcv valve is doing it's job...you'll know real quick.

Actually there is no valve at all. It's just a tube that leads to a series of baffles in the valve cover.

Uh...mine has a valve, so does my wife's and the FRPP's now on my wifes car. I took it all apart to powder coat and then installed a -10 AN fitting in the top of the cover to the PCV tube. That attaches to my Elite Engeering PCV catch can, from there -8 to the Supercharger.

The valve mechanism is inside a tube and crimped. It will not come out. At a glance it appears there is no valve.

I have a 5.4 3v all apart right now with the heads off (customer tried to change his own plugs at 120,000 miles and drove the shell into the cylinders.

I'll try to get a pic Monday of where the valve is inside the tube.

I would check you oil level, or the stuff may just need to be changed. That usually shuts up valve train rattle.
