I am running with 275/50R15 M/T ET Streets on a 15x8 wheel.

They are awesome tires! I am definitely sticking with them when I need new ones.

+1

As for size, lot's of options... depends on which wheel you're using... I use a staggered set for street tires, 18x9 & 18x10, with 255/45/18 front & 285/40/18 rear, and a 2nd 18x9 set of wheels for the drag radials - 265/40/18. They measure a fraction of an inch shorter total outside diameter (like 26.5" to 27"), but if anything I would think that helps on the track and doesn't harm anything on the street...
If you're using them as daily driver tires, use bigger diameter to match the front size & give similar handling characteristics; if you are using them just for the track, it might be better to use a smaller rim diameter to get a taller sidewall and a little bit of "wrinkle" when you race.

If for just track use Id get the Mickey Thompson ET Street. It is not a radial but will address any and all traction problems. 26 x 11.5 on 17" rim.

Just wanna clarify- are you talking about ET Street that requires tubes? If so, do you change at the track or are they pretty good on the road?

They fit on the stock 17" Mustang wheels? Where'd you buy? How are they on the street? track? basically, tell me what you know about them- as much as I like MT's it looks like M&H is making them now in sizes that might be closer to original "total outside diameter"...

FYI for those interested in MT tires:

http://www.mickeythompsontires.com/strip.php

specifically, look into these for Mustangs:

ET Drag: "slicks"; no grooves; track-only tires
ET Drag Radial: same as above, but radial construction
ET Street: grooved tread; DOT approved; but requires tubes
ET Street Radial: grooved; true radial; 15"-16" & one 17" option
ET Street Radial II: 17" & up outside diameter for newer cars & bigger wheels

The mickey Thompsons do not require a tube. I have read they require tubes but alot of people are running them with none. I and many others are running the 26 x 11.5 17 on stock S197 17" rims. They are not for the street at all. In rain you will kill yoursef and they wear out quickly in everyday driving. But in a high power car at the track they will hook better than any radial and some say any other slick. They are basically the Mickey Thompson ET DRAG with grooves cut in them. Even on larger 17" rims they have a nice amount of sidewall.

A vote for m&h 275/45/18's. They hook like glue and ride great. I can't speak to longevity since I've only had them a few months.

My votes for the MT ET street radial. I have 325/50/15 and they stuck well enough to blow my Auburn differential to bits on the third launch

I just purchased a Detroit Locker from Rousch overstock on eBay. 75 bucks less than anyone else and they actually had it in stock!! Fedex shows it will be in my hands Thursday and that should equate to me being back on the strip Saturday.

I meant 275/50 /17 sorry. They fit perfect (check my gallery for pics). They are fine on the street and even not too bad in the rain.Handle real well at very high speeds also.I had a 1.7 60 ft time spraying 125 shot off the line, they hook real well.I bought them from the dreaded RPM OUTLET! Hey, no issues they were here very quick. You might have a problem getting some now as the manufactures do not make drag radials year round. So towards the fall, supplies run short.
