I am 99% sure they are GTAs and I definitely have the drone around 1800 - 2100 rpm. I even changed my gears to 3.73 to up the rpm for in town use. Better, but still have it. I usually just run in a lower gear around town to stay out of the range. I do get a LOT of positive comments on the current sound. I even had a guy on a BMW convertible flag me down at Mustang Week to tell me that he could ride behind me all day just to listen to the sound of the cams and exhaust. Personally, I didn't think it was that loud.
That RPM range is pretty consistent accross the board for drone.
BTW, I can't easily Dynamat at this point. I have custom subs, amp, spare battery, and lots more goodies installed back there. Would be a lot of work to strip out and add the insulation. I do have to admit, I have thought about it.

Ive got magnaflow axlebacks, and not the cat back system on my 06 GT for 3 yrs now. Theyre "quieter" at idle with a mellow deep sound. There were more than a few times I thought that maybe they were too quiet for my tastes, but not anymore. When I wind the car up going through the gears the Magnaflows really sing! I did 10 laps at Road America in July, and let me tell you, they were not quiet! On the interstates and around town I NEVER experienced any drone. Now I cant speak for the magnapaks, but mine dont drone. In my opinion, magnaflow makes a top notch product with quality materials. My polished axlebacks look as good as they did when I installed them in April of 06.
Geez... I am torn. I have the certificate from MagnaFlow for any make or model Cat Back, so I could easily just sell it or order the Mustang Cat Back and then try them. A lot of work to try something and then wish I had left it alone. My neighbors would probably like the quieter idle, especially at 6:30 AM but I also like to hear my cams talk at idle. Sounds like I need a few beers and then decide...

I have the same magnaflow too and love it, you can usually get a used one on ebay or cragislist. I wanted a valid warranty so I got it here. Magnaflow 36438. Also some of the forum sponsors usually have a sale going on. Either way its a great exhaust system, sounds great, and very easy to install.
