The fuel filter is "not"near the tank. Its under the fromt drivers seat area inclosed in a plastic shield. Remove the shield and expose the filter. Remove with hand tools or just pull retainer clip and remove.

I didn't realize they moved it from it's basic location on the New Edge. He will still need the tool though. Otherwise there is a chance of damaging the the high pressure fule line.

Just checked the Haynes Manual and they show a picture "under a cover on the left side, in front of the gas tank". It does say that it can be removed with hand tools though after relieving fuel system pressure.

P.S.I is running 40Lbs at start. after only a few minutes of idling it starts dropping. push the accelerator and the pressure drops to 20 and below almost like a fuel filter prob. Going to change it but with the new fuel lines idk were it is. I know where it should be...
40 psi is normal at idle and cruise. At WOT it should be approx 40 + boost level.

Not for very long.

You can try chaning the fuel filter but I doubt that it is the cause and I really doubt it is in the stock location since you are running a returnable fuel system. You are not going to be able to find a manual for your car. It has been custom built. If your dyno says you are making 600 something at the rear wheel, I would be willing to bet Paul also built a forged engine. He does not risk putting his name on a product that he thinks will break. Your best bet would be to put the car on a trailer and bring it back to Paul's shop. He is a very knowledgeable tuner that does not market to the masses. He focuses on his customers and projects to ensure a quality product.

I talked to Paul today and made an appointment. $90 an hour Diagnostic, two hour min. He was much more helpful than the first person I spoke with over there. He knew the car well and said it was in the top 5 fastest cars that they have done. He kept saying "that car has a lot of power" lol. He asked about the condition of the car (witch I thought was really cool). He did say they were not finished with the job and it had more to be done but the daughter insisted on getting it back right after she learned her father (the owner) had died. So they finished up what they started and let it go because the situation. The bottom was built by his Paul's shop before all the other was added and he said he can get me all the papers I need.

That's a steal. There's way more than $15k in that car!

That is awesome! You found a super car, got it for a super price, and now you've found the shop and person who built it out!

Wow. What a cool story this is :-)

That is a killer find.

I just read that you have an appointment with the builder...he'll fix you up.

The forged motor alone is a 5,000 upgrade - not including installation. Add the supercharger to that and you made out like a bandit.

You want to find out some basics:

Fuel system: At that power level, that car needs nothing less than GT500 dual fuel pumps and a Kenne Bell Boost-A-Pump or equivalent.

Is it intercooled? Which supercharger make and model is on there?

What intake is on the car?

Post up some pics, too!

Yeah, Paul knows what he is doing.

No doubt.

Paul doesn’t mess with any of that crap for that power level and he is very anti BAP. That car has a full return system (I’ve seen the car a whole bunch of times) with -8 from the tank to the rails and a -6 return line. He will have a Walbro regulator and serviceable Walbro fuel filter. They bounced around a bit when the S197 first came out but chances are it has 2 255lph Walbro in tank pumps. And of course big fuel rails. And Paul likes 60lb/hr low impedance injectors at that power level. Paul won’t build anything without a bulletproof/overkill fuel system. And they never seem to have any melt downs……..coincidence?

Look back through the thread.

Stock last time I saw it.
