Default Who fit the GT500 brake kit on 18" aftermarket wheels other than GT500 wheels?

Sup,

Got a good deal on a GT500 take off Brembo kit, going to pick them up tonite. My problem is im not sure if they will fit my wheels but the deal is good so im willing to give it a shot.

Im running 18 x 9 03/04 Terminator style wheels with a 26MM offset, i think the back spacing is 6.5 if my memory serves me correct.

Anybody fit this brake kit inside 18" wheels that are NOT GT500, CTR40, FR500 wheels? Pics would be kool if you have em.

Wish me luck, im gonna give it a shot regardless but seeing and hearing some stories of success will make me feel better.

I think you're going to have to do like me and get wheels for the track only. GT500 wheels have 45mm offset so that's why I don't think they will fit.

I've heard of folks adding spacers too, but I'm not keen on spacers.

Wouldnt having a lower numerical offset(26mm - stick out past the fenders) mean i have more wiggle room in the brake caliper area? Im hoping that is the case.

Your wheels are 9" wide. GT500 wheels are 9.5" wide. A 45mm offset on one wheel is not the same as a 45mm offset on the other.

It really comes down to spoke design as well as offset and back spacing . The stock Ford 18" bullit style wheels have 50mm off set but the GT500 brakes will not fit. I have a set of Shelby Razors 18x9 one set it 24mm and the other is 40 off set. Neither willl fit the GT500 with out spacers.

THEY FIT!!!

I was most concerned with the height of caliper but it cleared with a lil wiggle room, the caliper is also MUCH wider than i thought but the spoke design left enough room where the caliper bulges out. I bolted up one side and tightened the lug nuts, the wheel was able to spin freely and nothing seemed to close for comfort.

Im going to install them this weekend, ill post some pics and clearance measurements.

Did you get the pics? I am too concerned about clearance, because I was considering the Shelby Torque Thrust M's in 18x9 configuration. A fellow club member has an 09 GT500. the fronts are 18x9 and the rears are 18x9,5.

I tried to take pics of the clearances but none of them came out well, i do however have a pic of the comparison between the OEM brakes and the Brembo's (attached).

I think what made it work was my offset, i am running new edge Mustang (99-04) offset (26mm), the spokes design also flares out twrds the outer edges so they provided enough clearance width wise. I was most concerned about height though, that seemed to clear with about a half inch to spare.
