Default Strut tower brace with a Whipple - 2005+ Mustang GT

I currently have a FRPP strut tower brace - but once my Whipple goes on I have read that the brace will no longer fit. Is there a kit to modify the FRPP brace to make it fit?Can it be modified to fit?

What other strut tower brace options do I have? Steeda?

I am running a Cervinis cowl hood - so I have the extra clearence.

Thanks.

We have a Cervini cowl hood too. Car had a strut tower brace before this year's total rebuild. Unless there's some compelling reason to put another one on (waiting to hear), I doubt we will bother with it.

I went to a Steeda Race Cowl induction hood and a Steeda Strut Tower Brace to fit the Whipple Super Charger. There is virtually no clearance(less that 3/8") between the blower and the oe hood.

You might be able to raise the bar a little bit with some spacers.

You can re-arch it and elongate the holes where the strut studs go through. We got one to fit over a 1.9L TVS blower.

Get two jackstands, put rags on them, flip the bar over and put a jackstand under each of the ends that go on the strut tower. So now it's upside down, supported on each end by the jackstands.

Now stand on the bar in the middle and bounce a little while holding yourself up overhead for balance. If you get enough arc, you probaby will have to grind the holes a little to clear.

If you need to space it, DO NOT use more than (1) washer on each stud. You will risk the strut moving around in the strut tower. If you don't have new nuts, use some Loc-Tite 242 on the them for the reinstall.

I had the same issue with my original strut tower brace (similar to the ford racing one) when I installed my Kenne Bell.

Go with the Steeda brace, I have a stock hood, and have the Steeda brace for the sc'd engines. No clearance problems with the KB or the hood. Plus it's a really nice brace.
