I see you already have the FRPP throttle body. Any problems with that one? According to guys over at Pauls High Performance, the Monoblade is worth 20 at the rear when used with the Whipple. I dont know if this was run with any other mods or at what boost etc...

In the spring we changed from stg2 cams to stg3 cams and a Whipple monoblade. It turned out to be a nightmare for my tuner. We replaced the momoblade with the FRPP and it was better but still no driveability. Then Comp ground me a different set of cams with less overlap and more exh lift and it worked ! We picked up 20 at the rear over what we had originally. Now I`m considering trying the monoblade again.Just wondering if anyone has used one of these on the street, and what kind of driveability they have.

As of this summer I know Whipple was still having issues getting the TPS in the TB to communicate with the car correctly and were having driveability issues. It ran good WOT but was a nightmare to drive. It wasn’t exactly worth a big lump of power either. I think I saw about 20hp in the last half of the rev range and that was on a GT500. I wouldn’t consider a big TB unless I was planning on going for over 500hp.

I plan on rolling out in the spring with 625-650hp and as of right now my plan is still to use the stock TB. If I get on the dyno and can’t make the power I want then I will consider putting one on but not until then.

Read KB’s site for some pretty good TB information.

Don't think it's going to be much of an upgrade over the FRPP.

I was already over 500hp and running a little over 16lbs boost.Putting a larger TB made sence, to let it breath. You did hit the nail on the head,it turned out to be a nightmare for my tuner.Changing the cams did cure it though, but we also went to the FRPP TB.After reading what you said makes me think I`m not going to really get much more with the monoblade, not to mention the $, and possibly loosing the great driveabity I have now. Thanks for your imput !!

Which Ford TB do you have? The 62mm or 65mm?

It`s a 62mm,I didn`t know FRPP made a 65mm for the 4.6.I know they make a 63.5 mm for the 5.4

The GT500 is 65mm but I guess technically not FRPP.

I was over at Livernois talking to them about a build today and asked about the monoblade since I was already there. They said they have had problems trying to tune the monoblade on manuals but have good success with one on their shop car which is an auto. All in all I would probably stick with what you already have.
